The book comes after the beta. Log trips in the beta now, and the book is made from them when ordering opens.
What’s in the book
A book of your trip,
laid out for you.
A full-color, full-bleed book, generated on your phone from what Switchback recorded during the drive. You don’t do any layout. There’s one template at launch, and you choose softcover or hardcover.
The route
The route, with your photos pinned
The actual road you drove, rendered as a field-guide map. Photos appear where you took them. If you turned location off, it shows a map of the states you visited instead.
It’s your drive, not a stock map.

Every plate the kids caught, stamped onto a US map with the per-state fact you saw in the app. Unlisted finds (the “report-a-plate” wildcards) get a page too.

Kid-by-kid pages
A page for each kid
Each child gets their own spread: their bingo card, scavenger list, plate count, and the wins they’re proudest of. Photos they took show up under their name.
No one is “and the rest.”
The journal
Journal entries in their own voice
Logbook entries, dated and attributed to the kid (or parent) who wrote them, next to their photos. Handwritten captions stay handwritten on the page.

Stats & patches
Stats and patches earned
The numbers (miles, plates caught, states visited, days on the road) plus every embroidered-style patch the family earned. A small QR code on the back page links home.

When the book launches, order one per trip if you want it, or none at all. Switchback never auto-bills you, never holds your photos hostage, and never charges to see the book preview. You’ll see shipping at checkout before you pay.

Books ship after the beta wraps. If a book arrives damaged or misprinted, we reprint at no charge.
The book is optional. The trip is yours either way.

No subscription. No ads. No tracking. The book is how Switchback stays in business, so it has to be worth buying.
Not a subscription
One book is one purchase. There’s no monthly tier, no auto-renew, no “premium book” upsell. If you don’t want it, you pay nothing.
No lock-in
Before you order, the preview on your phone is the whole book, page for page, made on your device. You’ll be able to export the PDF and reprint it yourself. We don’t hold the file.
Your photos stay yours
Photos stay on your phone. When you order, the print partner gets the print-ready PDF and your shipping address, nothing else.
No upsell ladder
Two products, one price each. We’re not nudging you toward an annual plan or a “deluxe” edition that locks the good pages behind another paywall.
