We're a small operation. When you write in, a real person reads it.
Questions, bugs, ideas, or "my kid wanted it to do X" - all of it helps, and all of it lands in the same inbox.
[email protected]In TestFlight, take a screenshot and tap "Share Beta Feedback," or use the feedback option on the build. It reaches us with the details we need attached.
No. There are no accounts and no sign-ups. You open the app and start a trip. Each person is just the first name they type in, with a random ID generated on their own phone.
One person starts the trip and becomes the host. Everyone else joins by scanning a QR code or typing a short code - no accounts, no invites by email. Once they're in, everyone's spots, bingo marks, and journal entries flow to each other's phones.
Yes. Playing is fully offline - that's the whole point on a road trip with patchy signal. When your phones are near each other, they sync directly device to device. When there's a connection, syncing catches everyone up. Nothing waits on a signal to be fun.
That's the best experience - each kid on their own device, all in one shared family trip. One phone works too; you can pass it around and log spots for whoever called it.
Yes, by design. Your trip lives on your device first. When it syncs to the rest of your family, it's end-to-end encrypted before it leaves the phone - we only ever hold scrambled data we can't read, and your family holds the keys. No ads, no tracking, no third-party analytics. The full details are in the Privacy Policy.
Location is off until you turn it on, and the app works fine without it. If you switch on route recording for a trip, Switchback draws the real road you drove for the keepsake book. A persistent indicator shows while it's recording, and one tap stops it. "Off" means off, and you can pick your region by hand instead.
In Settings, you can export your trips - the keepsake logbook as a PDF and your data as plain files - and delete everything in one tap. Because we hold no account and only unreadable data, deleting on your device is the whole story; there's no separate profile of you sitting on a server.
Book ordering isn't live yet - it's the next thing we're building. In the app today you can preview the whole book on your device, cover to colophon, so you can see what your trip becomes. When ordering opens, the book is printed and shipped by a print partner through their own checkout.
No, and there never will be. The keepsake book is a one-time physical purchase. You pay at most once - never with your data or your attention.
Sorry about that - tell us what happened and what phone you're on, and we'll dig in. On TestFlight, sharing beta feedback attaches the diagnostics automatically, which helps a lot. Otherwise email [email protected].
Those are our favorite notes. We're building this for real families on real drives, so the "my kid wished it did X" messages genuinely shape what comes next. Send them our way.
If your question isn't here, just reach out at [email protected]. We read every message.
